There’s nothing worse than starting your day with a headache and needing to pop pills to function properly. Not to mention that continuous use of pain pills and ibuprofen have a damaging effect on the lining of your stomach and can cause serious implications later on in life.

If you’d rather not take pills but don’t want to suffer all day either, here are 7 natural ways to cure your headache.

1 Modify Your Diet and Drinking Habits

Much of what we eat and drink isn’t entirely healthy—sugar, carbs, junk food, etc. If you suffer from constant headaches, it might be time to change your diet. Switch your juice or soda for water. Try an elimination diet to find out what the culprit is.

2 Check Your Oral Health

Believe it or not, problems with your teeth can also cause you to experience more headaches than usual. If you are worried about this, then you should think about making an appointment with your dentist. It could be something as small as a cavity that needs to be tended to.

3 Are You Getting Enough Sleep?

It’s possible that you are getting headaches because your body is exhausted. This will be the case if you are not getting enough sleep throughout the night or if you’re not getting the high quality of sleep your body requires. It’s possible that tech around in your bedroom is causing your issues here.

To prevent this, you should make sure all the tech in your bedroom is switched off before your head hits the hay.

4 Reduce Stress

It’s no secret that stress is one of the main causes of headaches. It’s easy for me to say, “Hey, just reduce the stress in your life,” but we all know it’s not that easy. Maybe have a closer look at your life and see where you can eliminate things (or people) that do cause you stress. Do you need them, really?

I love Rosemary oil for when I have a migraine, and Lavender oil is always close by too. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!

6 Get Regular Massages

If you can afford to do that, please do. Massages aren’t just great for relaxing, they also help reduce tension in your neck, back, spine, and so much more. Stiffness in your body can also cause headaches. If weekly massages aren’t in your budget, ask a partner or friend to lend a hand here!

I keep ice packs in my freezer all the time for when I have migraines. They feel like magic and help alleviate the pain from my migraines.
